Légende : Blood clot. Light micrograph of a section through a human artery, showing a large thrombus (blood clot, centre) due to cryoglobulinemia. This is a condition where proteins (cryoglobulins) clump together in cold weather. This is a rare condition mostly affecting people in their 40s to 50s, with twice the number of women than men showing symptoms. Due to the rarity of this disease there is no standard treatment, but patients diagnosed with the condition as a secondary symptom to another disease, have a higher rate of recovery. Especially if the primary disease is treated & the patient avoids cold conditions. Magnification unknown.
