PROSTATIC ADENOMA, SONOGRAPHY
Prostatic adenoma is a benign tumor of the prostate observed in 85% of men over 60 years of age. Difficult urination is the cardinal sign. Urinary tract infection is a common complication. The clinical course is generally unpredictable. Digital exploration via the rectum and transrectal ultrasonography are used to establish the diagnosis. Medications can be prescribed and a mild diet with flat beverages is recommended. Ablation of the prostate may be necessary in case of aggravation.
