ANKLE BRACHIAL INDEX
Model and doctor.
Office of vascular medicine - phlebology.
ABPI Doppler (Ankle-brachial index). Examination of the leg arteries.
The ankle-brachial index is calculated by divinding the systolic blood pressure in the ankle by the one in the arm ; the ABPI is determined thanks to a doppler probe. This examen enables to diagnose a narrowing of the diameter or an obstruction of the leg arteries, as well as screening peripheral artery disease (PAOD). A doppler ultrasound then enables to precise the diagnostic.
