BURKHOLDERIA CEPACIA

SEM of Burkholderia cepacia.
This bacterium is reponsible for nosocomial infections and opportunistic diseases of fragilized persons, mainly those affected by mucoviscidosis. It is at the origin of pulmonary infections, necrosing pneumonia and septicemias. This bacterium is multiresistant to antibiotics.
