PHEOCHROMOCYTOMA, X-RAY
Pheochromocytoma is a tumor which develops in the adrenal gland or in the ganglia along the abdominal aorta. The tumor secretes epinephrine and norepinephrine, causing severe high blood pressure. Symptoms include headaches, heart palpitations, perspiration and episodes of hypertension. Surgical resection of the pheochromocytoma(s) is the treatment of first choice. Shown here, hypervascularization above the left hilus and the right suprarenal.
