Articulation of the right knee, external view.

Representation of the right knee, in external view, with the ligaments of the knee, the meniscus that separates the distal epiphysis of the thickbone from the proximal epiphysis of the tibia, ahead of the rotula maintained at the top by tendon of the quadriceps and at the bottom by the patellar tendon fixed on the tibial tuberosity.
At the back of the patellar tendon is located the subpatellar fat and a subpatellar bursa.
